RSS user?

We’re interested to hear if you use RSS feeds.  They are increasingly used as a means to deliver content to you, rather than having to search for it.

If there is an area of the website that you think would benefit from offering an RSS feed, let us know below.

What do you use the website for?

We’re really interested to know what you use the Medway Council website for.  For example, research tells us that the three top tasks are

  1. to find something out
  2. to make a payment
  3. to find a job

and we will of course be making these three functionalities a priority.   But we’re interested to know if there is something in particular that you use the Medway Council website for that you can’t get elsewhere.

Or alternatively, if you wish the website offered something that you have to go elsewhere for.

Any comments greatly appreciated and will be fed into functionality and design work streams of the project.

Wicked Web selected as digital design agency

After a comprehensive selection process, we have awarded the design look and feel contract to Wicked Web – www.wickedweb.co.uk.

Wicked Web impressed us with their response to and understanding of the brief, approach to the project (user and usability-led), creative proposals and cost.

An Immediacy-accredited organisation, Wicked Web have extensive experience of implementing designs into the content management system the website will be based upon.

We are confident that they will meet our user expectations and deliver a refreshed, intelligent design on time and on budget.

What happens next?  Wicked Web are busy digesting survey results, website analytics and strategic objectives so that they live and breathe Medway Council over the next few months.  Card sorting and wire frame testing (which involve putting together the bare bones of the website structure based on ‘user journeys’ and then drawing up this structure in black and white) will be the next step – sign up to be involved in this.  Initial wire frames will be released in April for your comments – sign up (on the left of the page) to be notified by email when this happens.

There is lots to do before the design phase starts – we’ll keep you posted.
