Consultation – the story so far

Consultation was a priority from the very start of the website project.  Your expectations as a website user have soared in recent years due to technological and web design developments and unless we find out what you’re looking for in a new site, we can’t meet those expectations.

We have been out looking for quantitative and qualitative feedback from you to discover:

  1. What you think about the website www.medway.gov.uk
  2. How you use the website and what you use it for
  3. How people in Medway use the internet in general, and through which channels/access points
  4. What you would change about the website
  5. What you would expect from the new website

We have used a wide variety of surveys and sources to find out all the information above, including

  • MOSAIC demographic profiling reports to find out who in Medway is using the internet
  • Website analytics reports which include information showing what pages/information people are looking for on the website, how long they are online for, what terms they are searching for and from what pages they are leaving the website
  • Surveys sent out via email to Medway residents
  • A survey on the Medway Council website, hosted by Socitm (the Society of IT Managers) asking people to rate their satisfaction with the site
  • Staff surveys and consultation sessions
  • Socitm’s Better Connected report – an annual report scoring all local government websites against a set of criteria

We gathered reams of information from the sources above – take a look at what we found out and what we’re doing to respond to all of your feedback.
